2015-2016 Season: Ignite

This season, you will have the opportunity to see performances that engage your senses in the experience of something beautiful. But even more so, you will be able to see performances that challenge us all to reflect on on some of the most pressing social, cultural and spiritual conversations of our day. You do not need any special knowledge, prior experience, or training in dance terminology to get in on this: simply join us.

Our Fall Season is set to include a special "first" for Ballet 5:8. Guest choreographer Preston Miller, known for his short film Enemy Within featuring Tiler Peck, Matthew Rushing, Samantha Figgins, and Marquese Scott, is creating a work on the company for our fall program at the Athenaeum Theater. And Mercy, choreographed in Miller's athletic, contemporary style, will bring a refreshing note of diversity to the Ballet 5:8 repertoire.

As We Pray

Ballet 5:8's beloved ballet As We Pray, a living, moving, emotion-filled reflection on the Lord's Prayer, will be coming back to the repertoire for the Fall 2015 season! As We Pray can be performed in non-theater spaces, making it a perfect ballet for churches, schools and other Christian organizations to host as a night of prayer and worship, during a morning chapel service, or as all-school student event.  We are now accepting bookings, so don't wait - contact us today

Ballet 5:8 captured the imagination of our 400+ grade school children. Their elegant performance of the Lord’s Prayer was engaging and beautiful from start to finish... The dancers embody the joy and spiritual fulfillment of dedicated disciples of our Lord Jesus...Is it just for girls? Definitely not. Almost every boy was riveted to the performance...My heart tells me that Ballet 5:8 expanded our students understanding of what Christian discipleship is and how it can be happily and substantively pursued.
— Fr. Joseph Noonan, the pastor of St. Damian Parish and School in Oak Forest, IL
