Our Sixth Season has come to a close, and it's time to look back on the year and see what stood out to the dancers.
Q. Pick one word to describe this season overall. Why?
A. One word I would pick to describe this past season is "growth.” I felt that Julianna kept pushing all of us technically and artistically each show asking for more - to give more to the audience and keep pushing what we are capable of.
Q. What was your favorite moment onstage?
A. My favorite moment was either the first Scarlet show or the last Scarlet show. It was such a fun experience to reprise the role of Hester Prynne. The journey was incredible, and I'm so thankful for the opportunity to push myself technically and artistically performing Scarlet multiple times all across the nation.
Q. Looking back, would you say that you learned something new about yourself or found yourself stretched out of your comfort zone?
A. I just keep learning that there really is no limit to the amount I can push myself in every sense of the word. When I am put through tough times and circumstances, I am being molded and changed. Being in that uncomfortable state pushes me to grow as a person spiritually and physically.
Q. Is there a particular quote or idea that has been inspirational to you this season?
A. A verse that keeps reminding me to press into the Lord is Galatians 6:9: "And let us not grow weary of doing good, fo in due season we will reap, if we do not give up."
Q. What are you up to this summer?
A. This summer should be fun! I will be going on a short trip to see old friends and will be attending a family reunion in Montana this year. Then I'll be around all summer teaching the summer "keep-up" classes and teaching in our Summer Intensive which I'm really excited about! To finish off the summer before our 2018-19 season begins again, Lord willing, I will be helping out with a yoga certification retreat in order to maintain my yoga certification.
