Morgan Kelly: 2017/18 Season Reflections

 Compa

Our Sixth Season has come to a close, and it's time to look back on the year and see what stood out to the dancers.

Q. Pick one word to describe this season overall. Why?

A. Compelling! Throughout all the tours and performances I felt we had a powerful effect on our audience and one another.

Q. What was your favorite moment onstage?

A. This is a tough question because I feel as though there have been so many great moments onstage. If I had to pick one, I would say the closing moments in Shades of Refrain. In that moment the whole company is onstage together, and it feels like worship.

Q. Looking back, would you say that you learned something new about yourself or found yourself stretched out of your comfort zone?

A. This year I felt Julianna’s choreography pushed me out of my comfort zone. Both Compass and Scarlet had a variety of movement qualities so each piece challenged me both emotionally and technically.

Q. Is there a particular quote or idea that has been inspirational to you this season?

A. Throughout the season a verse in Scripture that I kept coming back to is Philippians 4:13, ”For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”

Q. What are you up to this summer?

A. I’ll be traveling this summer and visiting family, as well as dancing and cross training.
