Choreography: Julianna Slager
Length: 15 Minutes
Indwelling portrays the struggle within each believer in Christ between the Old Man, the man of our Sinful Nature, and the New Man, the free man ruled by the indwelling Spirit of God. A classical yet highly abstract ballet, Indwelling is an intriguing illumination of the struggle within.
Slager's Indwelling is an abstract yet shockingly realistic portrayal of the struggle between good and evil within. The ballet uses a score for solo piano that puts you on edge and then, from this almost painfully strained perspective, invites you to watch the voices in your head come alive. The simple yet powerful work uses just three dancers and puts a face to many of the things that Christians often allow to get the better of themselves.
