Musings...Or Don't Take Yourself So Seriously
"A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones” (Pro 17:22 ESV)
Premiere: November 2014
Choreography: Julianna Slager
Length: 35 Minutes
Musings, a comical work about the love of dance, is a chance for the dancers to show their witty side and a chance for you to join us in a good laugh. The sense of humor evidenced in Musings is the product of any professional ballerina’s history of years upon years of performing the art form’s codified classic ballets. Most often, audiences only see dancers when they are acting according to their intensive training – serious, dedicated, almost mythical in their appearance and work ethic on stage. Musings gives audiences a chance to experience the joy and creativity that is wrapped inside what can be seen as an otherwise stoic art form.
