  • Snowflakes & Slippers is our annual winter open house and placement event held every January. It’s the perfect opportunity to experience the School of Ballet 5:8 with complimentary placement classes for students of all ages and experience levels. Families can tour the studios, meet our faculty, and find the right class as the new year begins!

  • Snowflakes & Slippers is open to new and returning students, ages 2 through 102, who are not yet registered. Whether you're brand new to ballet or an experienced dancer, there's a class for you.

  • Yes, pre-registration is highly recommended to reserve your spot in a placement class. Space is limited! Popular times will fill quickly.

  • Comfortable dancewear or athletic clothing is fine for placement classes. If you have ballet shoes, bring them along — otherwise, socks or bare feet work for younger students! We can assist you in purchasing a uniform once you register.

  • While not required, it’s the best way to ensure your dancer is placed in the correct level for the new year. It also helps new students get comfortable in our space and meet the team.

Need some help getting signed up? Send an email to the Front Desk at schooloffice@ballet58.org and we’d be happy to help you get registered!

“My daughter has enjoyed being a part of a full production with a story, professionally made costumes, set and lighting. She feels part of the entire production as opposed to one dance in a recital. I love watching the professional and conservatory dancers as it makes me excited for the future of my daughter, as she continues to progress at The School of Ballet 5:8.

Of course watching the little ones is quite adorable and reminds me of when my daughter was that age. My daughter’s favorite part of being in a full production is that she feels part of the story being told. That her role, no matter the size, is important to the show.

The School of Ballet 5:8 has contributed so much to my daughter’s growth. Her ballet training has contributed to her self confidence, her respect for others, discipline, proper etiquette, dedication, time management skills, and overall she has become more appreciative of the arts.”
