Applicants must submit a headshot, teaching philosophy statement, and one full class video (any age level). No fee to apply. iPhone video is perfectly acceptable.

Ballet 5:8 is looking for teachers who are strong communicators, open to learning, and eager to develop their pedagogy. Videos need not be highly produced.

Evening Welcome & Orientation — Program overview and introductory workshop.

Friday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

9:00 – 10:30 AM | Observation: Ballet Technique (Advanced) — Studio 2
Focus: classroom management, quality of corrections, student engagement.

10:30 – 12:00 PM | Workshop: Effective Classroom Management & Student Engagement — Studio 3

12:00 – 1:00 PM | Lunch Break — Lounge Area

1:00 – 2:30 PM | Teaching Evaluation Session 1: Foundational Ballet Technique — Studio 2
Rotate teaching segments; receive real-time faculty feedback on technique emphasis, pacing, and clarity.

2:30 – 4:00 PM | Workshop: Parent Communication – Building Partnerships for Student Success — Conference Room

4:00 – 6:00 PM | Observation: Pas de Deux Class (Advanced Students) — Studio 1
Focus: technique, partnership dynamics, and artistic expression.

Saturday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

9:00 – 10:30 AM | Adult Ballet Class — Studio 1

10:30 – 12:00 PM | Workshop: Teaching Pas de Deux for Different Levels — Studio 3

12:00 – 1:00 PM | Lunch Break & Networking — Café Area

1:00 – 2:30 PM | Teaching Evaluation Session 2: Intermediate/Advanced Ballet Technique — Studio 2

2:30 – 4:00 PM | Workshop: Incorporating Musicality into Technique Classes — Studio 1

4:00 – 6:00 PM | Observation: Pointe Class (Pre-Professional Students) — Studio 2

Sunday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

10:30 – 12:00 PM | Final Teaching Evaluation: Advanced Technique Class — Various Studios

1:00 – 2:30 PM | Workshop: Mentoring and Motivating Young Dancers — Studio 3

2:30 – 4:00 PM | Final Seminar: Building a Well-Rounded Ballet Curriculum — Conference Room

4:00 – 5:00 PM | Reflection, Certification, and Closing Discussion — Studio 2
