Company and Second Company applicants may audition in Provo or Chicago, or select Video Submission in the combined professional DanceApply application. Nashville and Dayton offer Summer Intensive and Trainee auditions only.

Ballet Five Eight has 40-week, full-time Company contracts available for the 2027–28 season.
We welcome classically trained dancers with technical excellence, maturity, versatility, and a commitment to meaningful storytelling.
Early Career Artists
Second Company
Take the next step from advanced training into professional performance through mentorship, repertoire, and experience alongside Ballet Five Eight’s Company.
Second Company is a separate pathway from the School’s Trainee Program and uses the professional application.
Start with a screening.
Company and Second Company applicants use one combined professional application. Select Video Submission for video screening, or audition in person in Provo on January 16 or Chicago on January 30. Selected dancers may be invited to Company class for further consideration.
The last day to audition is April 15, 2027. January 30 is one audition opportunity; attendance on that date is not required. Submit early to allow time for review and scheduling.
The combined Company and Second Company application has a $10 application fee to cover DanceApply fees.

For Summer Intensive, Conservatory, and Trainee auditions, include:
- A headshot.
- A full-body photograph in first arabesque, en pointe if applicable.

Applicants use one combined Company and Second Company application to select their audition pathway and submit the requested materials. The application fee is $10 to cover DanceApply fees.
Choose Video Submission in DanceApply for video screening. Selected dancers may be invited to Company class for further consideration.

Wear fitted dance attire that allows the faculty to see your alignment and movement. Bring ballet shoes, pointe shoes if applicable, and water. Follow the registration and arrival instructions in your audition listing.
For a video submission
Use a steady camera, clear lighting, and a safe dance surface. Keep your full body visible, including your feet and arms. Check that your video link opens and that any required password is included.

Know before you go.
Which application should I complete?
Use the School application for Summer Intensive, Conservatory, and Trainee. Applicants use one combined professional application for Company and Second Company. If you want consideration for both School and professional pathways, complete the appropriate applications.
Can I audition by video?
Yes. Choose Video Submission in the appropriate DanceApply application and follow its submission requirements. Company and Second Company videos serve as an initial screening for further consideration.
Do I have to attend the January 30 Chicago audition?
No. Company and Second Company applicants may select Video Submission or audition in Provo on January 16 or Chicago on January 30. Selected dancers may be invited to Company class. The last day to audition is April 15, 2027.
Is Second Company part of the School application?
No. Second Company uses the professional application alongside Company auditions. Trainee is a School program and uses the School application.

What is the professional application fee?
The combined Company and Second Company application fee is $10 to cover DanceApply fees.
Do I need to purchase the Audition Journal?
No. My Audition Journal is an optional resource to support your audition preparation and reflection. It is not required to apply or audition.
