Where is your hometown? What is it like?

My hometown is New Lenox, Illinois. It's a quiet town on the outskirts of Chicagoland. There's a wonderful town commons that brings with it a lot of happenings.

Is there one person that helped you get where you are today? If so, tell us a little about them and your journey.

My mom, who started me into ballet. She pushed me just enough that I was able to find the person I wanted to be by myself.

What is one favorite or funny memory from your years of dance training?

I remember as a trainee, we had a performance at the Harold Washington Library in downtown Chicago. I was leading a group of fellow trainees around my home city, and I got lost. I was so embarrassed to pull out Google Maps, and I will probably never live that moment down.

What is your favorite thing about summer in Chicago? Do you have a favorite place to visit/local restaurant/activity?

The best thing about summer in Chicago is the lake! The lake is a great balance of temperature with the hot humid weather because the water never gets warm.

Last thing—what in the upcoming 2021/22 season are you most excited for?

I am most excited to see some of my favorite pieces being brought back into the repertoire. I remember seeing some of these pieces as a student; now being a part of them is amazing.
