Kayla Kowach | Season in Review

One of our Ballet 5:8 traditions at the end of each performance season is to ask the artists of the company to share some reflections with us. A special thank you to the artists of the company for sharing about their experiences in the 2021/22 Season.

Q. Pick one word to describe the 2021/22 Season. Why?

A. A word to describe this season is 'sumptuous.' This season was so rich with growth in myself and the team, elegance in the art, and an outpouring of love from the Lord.

Q. You performed many works this season! Does one stand out as the most meaningful or most notable for you personally? Why?

A. Todo Raba stands out to me as I reflect on this season because it sparks unadulterated joy, gratitude, and fulfillment every time we run it. I am just reminded, as we take the stage together as a company - sharing various glances, smiles, and winks, that we are so blessed to get to serve and dance together.

Q. What or who has inspired you this season?

A. I have honestly been truly inspired by the audiences and the ways the Lord has shown Himself through them. When I would find myself feeling tired or down before a show, I would remind myself that this is a brand new audience and a brand new opportunity for the Lord to reveal Himself.

Q. What are you looking forward to next season?

A. Next season, I am looking forward to seeing how our team is going to continue to grow and work together. Each one of us is so passionate and gives so much, and I am excited to keep refining our process and art.
