Thank you for auditioning for Ballet 5:8’s Professional Summer Intensive.

Based on your audition we are pleased to accept you into the Professional Summer Intensive 2025!

The Professional Intensive is a rigorous summer study program where professional dancers from across the country expand their knowledge and abilities. Program faculty include Ballet 5:8 Artistic Director Julianna Rubio Slager, Artists of the Ballet 5:8 professional company, and world-class guest instructors. Classes take place inside Ballet 5:8's beautiful 12,000 square foot building with five studios in Orland Park, IL, 35 minutes from downtown Chicago.

Technique taught during Intensive is informed by Ballet 5:8’s training philosophy, which stresses proper placement, strength and dynamic musicality. The intensive class and rehearsal schedule runs from 9:15am - 4:30pm daily with 4-5 classes each day, giving dancers a true opportunity for growth. In addition to daily ballet technique and pointe classes, dancers attend a variety of supplemental classes such as classical men’s and women’s variations, classical repertoire, Ballet 5:8 repertoire, Pilates, Progressing Ballet Technique, modern, contemporary, improv and more. Dancers also have the opportunity to attend professional development seminars on topics like choreography and composition, pedagogy, injury prevention, auditions and resumes, jobs in related fields, and more.

Dancers at the Professional Intensive experience spiritual and emotional refueling for the season ahead. Times set aside for Bible study, worship and fellowship allow dancers to deepen their faith, enjoy spiritual and emotional refreshment, and explore the intersection of art and faith.
