Ballet 5:8 is honored to present a world premiere by acclaimed choreographer Stephanie Martinez, a bold and powerful voice in American dance. Known for her emotionally resonant works and fearless movement vocabulary, Martinez brings a unique choreographic language that bridges ballet and contemporary dance with striking authenticity.

With commissions from major companies across the country—including Joffrey Ballet, Ballet Hispánico, and Kansas City Ballet—Martinez is celebrated for crafting work that pulses with humanity and urgency. Her newest creation for Ballet 5:8 continues that legacy, offering audiences a visceral and moving exploration of personal and collective identity.

This new work will be a cornerstone of our 2025–26 season, deepening our commitment to presenting dynamic, socially relevant storytelling from today’s leading female choreographers. We are proud to welcome Stephanie Martinez to our stage and into our artistic family.
